The following jobs are currently available at the Harold Warp Pioneer Village.  

Founded by Harold Warp, Pioneer Village is a 70 year old museum consisting of 28 buildings located on 23 acres housing over 50,000 irreplaceable items of historical value, restored to operating order, arranged in groups and also in the chronological order of their development.

Twelve historical buildings ring a central “green,” including a Frontier Fort, an original Pony Express Station, a sod home, and a schoolhouse. The art collection includes Currier and Ives prints, Jackson paintings, and the largest single collection of Rogers statues. In addition to a steam-powered carousel, the collection contains historic planes, tractors, farm equipment, a locomotive, and more than 350 antique automobiles and motorcycles, including the world’s oldest Buick, a 1902 Cadillac, and a 1903 Ford.

 The desire of Harold Warp was to create a place where people of all ages could witness the incredible progress that took place in our country from the 1830s until the 1980s and beyond. His passion for the ingenuity of the human spirit can be felt throughout the entire facility. The mission of the Pioneer Village is to continue to uphold Harold’s vision and his desire to share this impressive collection with generations to come.

POSITION:  Museum Technicians

Position: Part-time -Up to 35 Hour week

Compensation:  Starting at $13.50 per hour

The Pioneer Village is accepting part-time applications for seasonal employees to assist museum staff with daily operations. Primary duties include customer service, janitorial, grounds keeping, food services, and educational programming with an emphasis on crafts including broom making, weaving, and spinning “we offer onsite training should you not have prior experience.”

Successful applicant must be at least 16 years old. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with occasional bending and lifting to 20 pounds. Wage is commensurate with experience and qualifications starting at $13.50 an hour. Schedule varies, including some weekends and holidays.

POSITION: Maintenance Technician

Pioneer Village is currently looking for part-time applicants for a maintenance
technician position to assist with museum operations. The main duties include handling plumbing, electrical work, carpentry tasks, basic maintenance, and performing mechanical repairs. It is also crucial to have the ability to oversee contractors during professional repair projects.

Candidates should be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Nebraska Driver’s License. The role includes a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks, with some activities involving bending and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The starting hourly wage is $15.50, dependent on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The schedule offers flexibility, including occasional weekend and holiday shifts.
